Hope for the Elderly: An Act of Compassion Multiplied

Hope for the Elderly: An Act of Compassion Multiplied

From time to time, Tripura Foundation’s program Hope for the Elderly extends itself to younger adults who are struggling to make ends meet. Ms. Latha, a participant of our Hope Station at Nilgiris, is differently-abled who has paraplegia in her lower extremities. At age 44, she is living alone and uses her hands for mobility. She has no one to help her and lives in a single room allocated by the government for the disabled. Latha has been one of our Hope beneficiaries since 2018.

Latha is very kind and helpful by nature. Receiving regular rationing from her Hope donor, Inez Vermeulen, has motivated Latha to extend herself and care for others. With the Pongal festival season nearing, Latha decided to pay it forward by making Sweet Pongal for people living nearby. Thanks to Latha, people who are also differently-abled, children, and the elderly have enjoyed Latha’s generosity this week by partaking in Sweet Pongal with each other.

Latha herself has become a true ambassador of our Hope for the Elderly program and Tripura’s mission, spreading unconditional love to those in need.
