A Ray of Hope for Pavadharini

A Ray of Hope for Pavadharini

Pavadharini

Pavadharini is 11 years old.   When she came to one of Tripura Foundation’s Hope Learning Centers, she shared her story in a voice that was barely loud enough for us to hear.

She shared that her mother committed suicide when she was just 7 years old.  Pavadharini was left with her father, who married another woman not long after her mother died.

She felt that she didn’t have time to mourn her mother’s passing before she moved to a new home with a new family.

Her step-mother and step-brother had no intention of taking her in, until her father insisted.  Even so, he didn’t take care of her in any other way.

She was not allowed time to study, so she lost all interest in planning her future. She had no time to touch books because she went to bed right after finishing countless household chores and caring for her step-brother.

This was her daily routine until she heard about her local Hope Learning Center from friends.

She says, “It was the luckiest day in my life when my father let me go to learn in Hope Center.”

She now has friends who help her through her studies and teachers who encourage her to look forward to her future.

Through Tripura Foundation’s Hope Learning Centers, Pavadharini has finally found a ray of Hope in her bleak situation, and is thriving rather than merely surviving.
